Screaming Moon.jpg

screaming moon

the cloudless blue night sky was violent
the ocean like a sine wave
swelled and crashed on itself
in a mathematical logic that had no equation
i was jealous of the chaos
it showed a strength but needed no audience
my anarchy seemed small and weak in the face of it
i thought about death and dying
which only made me feel even more ashamed
but this is the process

the stars glittered in morse code
it wasn’t dying or death but how you faced it
and so i leaped into the ocean
within the 7 seconds it takes to make any decision
with a screaming moon casting me in half silhouette
to become a part of the mystery
that completes us all
while on the shore mourners clung
to a certainty
no one gets to keep
